~ BELLA THE GREY ~

Bella is flying free over that Rainbow
with all of our hearts

We love you, Bella.

February 3, 2009 We will miss Bella...

I would like everyone to know that we lost our Little Bella today. She was the sweet Grey I cared for. She is happy and flying free over that rainbow now. We will miss her...

She came to us from the Delaware SPCA on November 10, 2008. She was so ill -- we did all we could for this little one. We all gave her all the love that a bird could get. While this did not keep her healthy, it did keep her happy during the last few months of her life.

Bella told us her name was Cookie, so we all called her Bella Cookie. She loved to say Thank You all the time and Coo-Coo too. She was always happy to see people visit her, and as they left her room She would always say thank you as if to thank them for stopping by. I will miss this about her. I'm in tears for this loss. I wish I could have done more to keep her going but it is hard when the bird itself is telling you it is time to fly over that rainbow. And that she will...

Her lasted word to me was Coo-Coo and I will remember her always. This sweet bird should never have had to go through all that she did in her life, but I'm happy that I was a good part of the best of her life. For the last 3 months of it, this was the best for her...

Thank you all for helping in the care of her... Thank you so much... Love to all...

January 12, 2009 Update on Bella the Grey:

Bella the Grey (January, 2009)

B Bella (Cookie) is doing better, but is still in need of more blood work. She is going to need x-rays this coming week. Her liver is doing okay but is still anemic and needs to have shots every two weeks. Bella has started to pluck her feathers due to the condition of her health, but is still a loving bird. She loves to talk and play on top of her cage. We are trying to find that right home for her but with a special needs bird, sometimes that is hard to find. She is a sweet bird that just needs someone to love her and care for her needs. For more information about Bella, please contact us. Thank you.

Update on Bella the Grey:

BBella (Cookie) has been staying with us for the past few weeks. She is still in need of more blood work, but is eating the new food and is doing better.

She loves to chat all the time and is starting to talk to everyone who visits with her. This little girl is a special grey. We are all falling in love with her. We are hoping that we can find that right person that will love her and care for her when the time is right for her to move on to that right home. She is a sweetie.

We are still looking for some help with the vet bills so if you can, please help today. Thank you.

November, 2008 Bella's arrival

Bella the Grey is a Congo African Grey, approximately 3 to 6 years old. We got her on November 10, 2008 from the SPCA along with another bird who is doing fine, but this little girl needs a lot of help. She will be staying with us until we can get her in good health.

We need to place her on a special diet that we can only get from a vets office, so we are seeing if we can get it from the company. It is called Formula AL Liver Care from Roudybush. Also, she has to be on a chemical-free all-organic colorless diet.

Bella the Grey

Bella has been to the vet and is doing well so far but she has a liver problem that will require more vet visits for additional blood work and x-rays. She will not be available for adoption until we can get her back in good health. Were learning a lot about her and this disease that can do a lot to a birds health. When she goes up for adoption, it will be a special adoption with all of the care she will need.

Were doing all we can to help this little one but we need help with getting her back to good health. If you can help out by sending a donation, it would be greatly appreciated. We are accepting donations by mail at the address below and on our website via PayPal. Please make your check payable to Jojo the Grey Adoption and Rescue for Birds.

Thank you for your time and your help.
